According to the decision of the 112th Session of the International Olympic Committee on July 13, 2001, the Games of the XXIX Olympiad will be held in Beijing in 2008. The Games will be held from August 8 - 24, 2008.
The concept of the Beijing Olympic are the Green Olympics, the Hi-tech Olympics and the People's Olympics. Beijing plays hosts to 10,500 athletes in 28 different sports, across 38 disciplines and 302 events. There are 37 competition venues, 6 outside of Beijing and 87 Training Venues.
